The 2013 Riserva is the absolute pinnacle of Tommaso Bussola’s production, released only in exceptional vintages. Sourced from the oldest vines (40+ years) in the heart of the Valpolicella Classica, this wine undergoes an extended natural appassimento and a marathon aging process. It is an “extreme” Amarone that defies time, merging a massive, almost physical density with a noble complexity that only a decade of careful cellaring can produce.
Produced in strictly limited quantities only when nature allows. This is a blue-chip collector’s item for those who seek the ultimate expression of Amarone. Widely considered one of the best vintages of the decade for its balance between structural power and refined acidity.
Appearance: Intense garnet red, deep and nearly impenetrable, with brilliant ruby highlights.
Nose: An explosion of tertiary and primary aromas fused in perfect harmony. Notes of marasca cherries in syrup, plum jam, and dates blend with sophisticated layers of black truffle, leather, pipe tobacco, and sweet spices. A balsamic finish of eucalyptus and mint completes the profile.
Palate: Immense, velvety, and boasting a near-infinite persistence. The tannic structure is noble and polished, supported by a balsamic freshness that elegantly masks the high alcohol. Each sip reveals new layers of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and black forest fruits.
