Born in the “oven of Ofena,” a high plateau that enjoys unique temperature excursions thanks to the proximity of the Gran Sasso mountain. It is a red that makes “fruit crunchiness” its banner: a “rascal” wine (hence the name Malandrino), agile and vibrant, capable of telling the story of the Abruzzo mountains with surprising freshness.

The cellar philosophy is minimal intervention for maximum expression. Malandrino ferments spontaneously and ages exclusively in concrete and stainless steel tanks. The categorical choice to exclude wood is fundamental to preserving the natural acidity and primary aromas of the grape. This wine refuses to be “made up,” focusing instead on extreme cleanliness and varietal fidelity.

On the Nose: A triumph of crunchy red fruits: black cherry, sour cherry, and small forest berries. Delicate notes of black pepper and a hint of Mediterranean scrub follow, providing depth.

In the Mouth: The sip is dynamic and snappy. The tannins are present but very fine, typical of perfect ripening. The acidity is the true backbone of the wine, making it tirelessly drinkable and refreshing.
