The vineyard consists of 3 ha planted in 1967 on the banks of Sesia river that have very shallow soils derived from the decomposition of the porphyry of mount Rosa. This soil has a very low pH which gives the classic mineral, iron ore, rusty profile of these wines
Gattinara is a wine of incredible distinction and elegance, fermentation is carried out in cement tanks and then aged for at least 36 months in large oak barrels. the resulting wine is austere and deep, with aromas of roots, undergrowth, dry leaves, fruit in jam and with earthy references.
