The Calvarino Soave Classico 2024 by Pieropan represents the absolute nobility of Italian white wine. First released in 1971 as Italy’s very first single-vineyard (Cru) white wine, this bottling embodies extraordinary longevity and timeless authenticity.

Harvested from historic, certified organic vines averaging 30 to 60 years of age. These vines dig deep into the dark, basalt-rich volcanic soils of the Eocene era. Harvesting is done strictly by hand, utilizing multiple passes through the vineyard to select only perfectly ripe clusters. In the cellar, a protocol of extreme purity is followed to protect the terroir. Following a soft pressing, fermentation and subsequent aging take place exclusively in glass-lined cement tanks for 12 to 15 months.

Appearance: Brilliant straw yellow enhanced by shimmering green-gold highlights.

Nose: The bouquet is expansive, incredibly fresh, and deeply mineral, driven by clear volcanic markers. Intense floral notes of elderflower, jasmine, and acacia blend seamlessly with yellow peach, crisp apple, and pear, closing on wild aromatic herbs (sage, thyme) and a classic fresh almond undertone.

Palate: Sharp, precise, and vertical. A striking marine-like salinity and mineral core meet a vibrant, perfectly integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is enveloping yet clean and remarkably persistent, leaving a crisp, citrusy finish that continuously invites another sip.
