Querciabella Batàr Toscana IGT 2022| Agricola Querciabella

The mythical white wine of Tuscany that challenges the Grand Crus of Burgundy. The Batàr 2022 by Agricola Querciabella is simply a liquid legend, universally recognized as one of Italy’s greatest and most influential white wines. Born in 1988 on the steep, high-altitude terraces of Ruffoli (Greve in Chianti), this biodynamic masterpiece boasts a style and structural weight that famously prompted wine critic Jancis Robinson to define it as “reminiscent of a particularly successful Corton-Charlemagne.” [1]
With an extremely limited production (around 16,000 bottles) coveted by collectors globally, this wine sells out rapidly every vintage. Backed by extraordinary international critical acclaim, the 2022 vintage is an investment of absolute prestige for any elite cellar, possessing a breathtaking ability to evolve beautifully for over 15 years.

Color: A sumptuous, luminous pale gold yellow with brilliant, crystalline reflections.

Aroma: The nose opens with a pervasive, aristocratic, and deeply complex bouquet. Intense notes of acacia flowers, chamomile, yellow peach, and sweet melon fuse masterfully with exotic layers of fresh pineapple, citron peel, and mandarin. As it breathes, intriguing and highly evolved hints of saffron, toasted brioche, propolis, and a refined mineral vein of crushed flint emerge.

Palate: On the palate, it is voluptuous, profound, yet guided by extraordinary finesse. The entry is creamy and texturally dense, instantly tensioned by a brilliant mountain acidity and a distinct saline core that perfectly balances its generous 14% ABV. The finish is infinite and multifaceted, marked by echoing notes of sweet spices and toasted almond.
