Venica Collio Merlot 2020

Venica & Venica Merlot pours a quite intense ruby red colour. It is a young, fruity and slightly herbaceous, with a harmonious bouquet ranging from berries, especially blueberries and blackcurrants, to violets, plums, cherries, tomato leaves, fennel and rhubarb. Some medicinal herbs are also experienced such as mint and thyme, and a distant balsamic note that fades into pine. The palate is broad and deep, medium bodied, juicy and dripping with blackberries and cherries. The tannins are light and velvety and are balanced with the hints of undergrowth in a soft and enveloping sip. Acidity tends to be low.
